Today, we honor U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Andrew T. Weathers. Weathers was injured on September 28, 2014, in Helmand Province, Afghanistan and died 2 days later. He bravely ran to a rooftop under heavy fire to stop an insurgent attack. His actions saved five U.S. Green Berets and nine Afghan Commandos. Weathers was part of the 2nd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.
