This R.E.D. Friday, we honor Captain William D. Swenson of the United States Army for his extraordinary valor during the Battle of Ganjgal, Afghanistan, on September 8, 2009. Under intense enemy fire, Swenson repeatedly entered the kill zone to rescue wounded soldiers - risking his life again and again to bring others to safety. For his actions, he was awarded the Medal of Honor in 2013.

As we wear red today, we honor his courage and the unwavering commitment to never leave a teammate behind.
