HOnoring U.S. Army 1st Lt. James Robert Kalsu

Today we honor U.S. Army 1st Lt. James Robert Kalsu, of the 11th Artillery Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, who was killed in action on July 21, 1970, in the A Shau Valley, Vietnam.

An All-American offensive tackle, Kalsu played one season with the Buffalo Bills before leaving professional football to serve.

He was offered a deferment but chose instead to honor his commitment to the U.S. Army.
