Today we honor Gunnery Sergeant Johnny Lee Canley. Canley showed remarkable bravery in Vietnam, leading his unit through dangerous situations from January 31 to February 6, 1968. Despite being wounded, he rescued fellow Marines under heavy fire and took command when his superior was injured. He led attacks, eliminated enemy threats, and saved lives, earning praise for his courage and dedication.
