Today, we honor Sergeant Albert J Sarno. A Marine Corps platoon sergeant in WWII, bravely served in Iwo Jima, witnessing the horrors of war. He seldom spoke about the immense loss and suffering. Learning of his unspoken struggles later shed light on his strength. His silence reflects the unwavering courage and resilience of those who endured unimaginable hardships.
